Content Policy

Guidelines to ensure fair, honest, and helpful reviews for everyone.

1. Purpose

NamQritique exists to give Namibian consumers a trusted voice and to help businesses grow through honest feedback. This Content Policy sets the standard for all content posted on the Platform. Submission of any content constitutes acceptance of this Policy.

2. Review Authenticity

All reviews must:

  • Reflect a genuine, first-hand, personal experience with the business
  • Be written by the person who had the experience, not a third party
  • Be submitted independently — without payment, incentive, gift, or coercion of any kind
  • Be a single submission (duplicate reviews for the same experience are prohibited)

3. Review Accuracy

Reviews must:

  • Describe events truthfully and without material exaggeration
  • Accurately represent the quality of the product, service, or experience received
  • Distinguish clearly between fact and personal opinion
  • Be updated where materially inaccurate information is discovered

4. Prohibited Content — Zero Tolerance

The following content will be removed and may result in immediate account termination:

4.1 Fake or Manipulated Reviews

  • Reviews not based on genuine personal experience
  • Reviews submitted by competitors to harm a business
  • Reviews submitted by business owners or their associates about their own business
  • Incentivised or paid reviews (positive or negative)
  • Coordinated review campaigns

4.2 Harmful Content

  • Threats of violence, harm, or intimidation
  • Harassment, bullying, or targeted abuse
  • Hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic
  • Content that facilitates or promotes illegal activity

4.3 Privacy Violations

  • Sharing personal information of employees, staff, or other customers (names, contact details, addresses)
  • Recording or sharing private conversations without consent

4.4 Defamatory Content

  • Statements of alleged fact that are false and damaging to a person or business's reputation
  • Content clearly designed to destroy a business's reputation without factual basis

4.5 Irrelevant or Spam Content

  • Reviews unrelated to the business being reviewed
  • Advertising, promotional links, or commercial solicitation
  • Repeated identical or near-identical submissions

4.6 Explicit Content

  • Sexually explicit or graphic violent material of any kind

5. Photo and Media Guidelines

Uploaded photos and media must:

  • Be directly relevant to your experience with the business
  • Have been taken or created by you
  • Not include identifiable faces of individuals without their consent
  • Not be digitally altered in ways that misrepresent the actual experience
  • Not contain watermarks, logos, or branding of third parties

6. Business Response Standards

Businesses responding to reviews must:

  • Maintain a professional, courteous, and constructive tone
  • Address the specific concerns raised
  • Not threaten, intimidate, or attempt to silence reviewers
  • Not offer incentives in exchange for review modification or removal
  • Not make false counter-claims about the reviewer

Any business response that violates this Policy will be removed and may affect the business's standing on the Platform.

7. Reporting Violations

Any user may flag content they believe violates this Policy. Flagged content is reviewed by our moderation team within 48 business hours. Repeat or frivolous flagging may itself result in action against the reporting account.

8. Enforcement

Violations are assessed in context. Consequences range from:

  • Content removal with notification
  • Formal warning
  • Temporary account suspension
  • Permanent account termination
  • Referral to relevant authorities where content is unlawful

NamQritique reserves the right to act on violations proactively, without waiting for a report, at our sole discretion.

9. Appeals

If your content is removed or your account actioned, you may appeal within 14 days by emailing moderation@namqritique.com with full details. Appeals are reviewed by a senior moderator not involved in the original decision. Our decision on appeal is final.

10. NamQritique's Liability

NamQritique is a platform provider. We do not author, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of user-generated content. We are not liable for any content posted by users. By publishing content, users accept sole responsibility for it.

11. Updates

This Policy may be updated at any time. Significant changes will be communicated to all users with reasonable advance notice.
